(In)Human Nature - Official Preview

Meet Grant Roberts. For most parts, he appears to be a normal man in his late twenties. He works mostly the graveyard shift as a nursing assistant at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton. He owns a trendy condominium loft that he shares with his two best friends – homicide detective Kaitlyn Russo and permanent slacker/schemer Seth Rollins. All three would appear to be normal members of society, but a series of events shall unfold that will reveal each of their secrets to the fair city of Edmonton – and the world itself.

After taking a suggestion that was intended as a joke, Grant launch a class-action lawsuit against the mainstream’s portrayal of his people. The outcome sees Grant becoming a very reluctant spokesman for a group of vampires seeking equal rights akin to the living. Rights that would see vampires in Canada no longer treated like criminals or prisoners of war. This movement draws opposition from a united affluent vampire community within Edmonton to an extreme-right wing religious group bent on making sure that not only their message that “God Hates Fangs” is heard across the globe, but any nation thinking of giving rights to vampires will be doomed to His wrath.

Meanwhile, Kaitlyn is in the middle of an investigation involving a series of mysterious deaths that seemingly have no real connection to one another – except each of the victim was found at every scene nearly torn to shreds. Trying to keep her own secret being exposed, Kaitlin’s life is turned upside down when she believes she might be responsible for those deaths, despite keeping her transformations under control for nearly three years now. Further complications arise also when a mysterious benefactor brings in a specialist – a renowned werewolf hunter from the Ukraine, who is smitten with Kaitlyn, and unaware that she too is a werewolf and may be the one he was brought in to slay.

Seth, on the other hand, has no real pressing issues he wishes to resolve. Being dead for nearly a decade and haunting the condo that Kaitlyn first bought five years ago, Seth spends most of the time trying to keep his odd couple-like roommates grounded somewhat in reality and avoiding any discussions about his past for fear of finally crossing over. While previous attempts have failed, Seth will only listen to the ghost whispering techniques of one Jennifer Love Hewitt (Even though she is a TV character, Seth doesn’t want to hear it.). But Seth is going to find himself dragged into the middle of a battle that may not be as simple as vampire rights, but a battle that sees two former enemies united towards a common goal – revenge and conquest of the normal people.

After all, it’s only (in)human nature…
